Kreacher was a male house-elf who served the House of Black with fanatical loyalty for most of his life until he was left to Harry Potter upon the death of Sirius Black in 1996. A house-elf who served in the House of Black, Kreacher's loyalty to the Black family was absolute and undying. Harry finally won Kreacher over by giving him the fake locket from Regulus to keep as his own, and asking him to find Mundungus Fletcher, whom Kreacher had seen stealing the real locket as he trashed Grimmauld Place looking for things to sell. Though Kreacher seemed like a real baddie earlier on, it was actually just his loyalty to the house of Black that made him appear that way. It is most likely that Kreacher returned to Harry after the war and serve him along with the rest of his family since I don't think there's a point for him to work in the Hogwarts Kitchens nor being freed because like the average house elf, he likes to serve. From the death of the last black inhabitants, he was left alone until Sirius moved in. And, when treated with an ounce of respect, he reveals himself to be a good little guy. . Kreacher is the house-elf of Grimmauld Place. During the final battle, Kreacher arrives to rally the Hogwarts house-elves to Harry's cause. Closed 8 years ago. Kreacher presumably keeps Harry's secrets and remains loyal even after Harry loses the ability to return to number twelve, Grimmauld Place safely. Then his ownership passed on to Harry. Harry had him work at Hogwarts until DH when he had him back to Grimmauld Place. He also absorbed the anti-Muggle beliefs of the Black family.
